Sweet and spicy chicken

You won’t believe you’ve prepared a restaurant-quality dish in the comfort of your kitchen in just 30 minutes. This recipe is simple to follow and so easy to make that you are most definitely going to put in the regular rotation. Yum!

In a large bowl, toss well the chicken thighs with the cornstarch. Make sure the chicken pieces are well-coated. Set aside.


In a separate bowl, whisk together all ingredients for the sauce and set aside.


Pour vegetable oil in a large pan, just enough to reach the midpoint of it.


Heat the oil over medium-high heat. Once heated, add the chicken to the pan and cook until crispy and golden.


Then, remove the chicken from the pan. Keep one spoonful of oil and discard the rest.


Add the garlic, ginger and red pepper flakes to the pan, and cook for 30 seconds (until you can smell the garlic) to bring out their flavour. Stir continuously with a spatula to prevent ingredients from burning.


Place chicken back into the pan and toss.


Stir the sauce, then pour it into the pan.


Stir the chicken in the sauce to coat well for about 30 seconds to 1 minute until the sauce has thickened.


Serve immediately over a steaming bed of rice. Enjoy!
