Method

Preheat the oven to 350°F ~ 180°C. Mix the following in a small bowl: the salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder and smoked paprika.

Cover the bird evenly with the spice mixture. Keep 1 tbsp of the mixture separate and sprinkle it inside the chicken.

Bake on a roasting pan with a roasting rack for 20 minutes per pound (4 lb = 80 minutes). Afterwards, increase the temperature to 450°F ~ 230°C and roast for additional 20 minutes. Then, check the internal temperature, it should be 165°F ~ 75°C.
