For the coffee
- Coffee
- 1 cup (at room temperature)
- Half cream
- 2 tbsp or more, to taste (or milk)
For the simple syrup
- Granulated sugar
- ½ cup
- Water
- 1 cup
- Vanilla extract
- ½ tsp

Method

For the simple syrup combine sugar and 1 cup of water in a medium saucepan over medium heat, stirring until the sugar has dissolved. Let cool completely and stir in vanilla extract. Set aside in the refrigerator until ready to serve.

Serve coffee over ice with half-and-half and simple syrup (adding 1 teaspoon at a time, to taste).
